Aquatic Safety & Athletic Discipline

AquaTen Program

My Thoughts

Dear Parents,

As summer approaches I am reminded of how important it is to have a “Great” not “Good” or “OK” swim program to rely on.  For a moment, lets leave “Good” or “OK” to the other sports programs.  Swimming or for that matter learning to simply survive in the aquatic environment is crucial, especially in Southern California.  There are to many drownings in this state that are simply unwarranted.  There is never an excuse to not put your child in a learn to swim program, NEVER!  I am trying to make it possible for everyone to enjoy our swim lessons and for this reason, I have incorporated a scholarship program where your child, if previously enrolled in our program, can earn a scholarship if your family is to run into financial difficulties. I want to be as loyal to you as you have been to me and my program in the past few years.  I want our program to be “Great” for all, not just a select few!  This summer, we will be offering “Parent & Me” lessons at the Renaissance ClubSport (members and non-members are welcome).  We will also be starting our swim team (no name just yet) on July 19th (tryouts are July 10th) at the Renaissance ClubSport as well so be on the lookout for that. So lets recap-”Parent & Me”, Safety, Stroke Development, Stroke Technique lessons and now a swim team-all run by competent, well trained instructors and coaches.  If you ever have a doubt or question, give me a call or e-mail me.  I am easy to track down!
I hope that my program is “Great” for you and if it is not, I invite you to let me know!

Our Program

Swimming Lessons - Kid Diving

AquaTen Swim School lessons are divided into four learning categories with the goal of helping student’s transition from being aquatic naïve to being accomplished “technically sound” swimmers. With over 15 years of competitive international experience, Felipe Delgado (1996/2000 Olympian) has developed a curriculum that encompasses the entire aquatic “Learn to Swim” experience.

  • SAFETY: We have developed four Safety lesson plans that will encompass the aquatic naive students and allow them to learn in an atmosphere that is both fun and challenging.
  • DEVELOPMENT: For the students that are ready to start forming a foundation that will assist them in swimming technically sound strokes, the Development lesson plan is ideal.
  • STROKE TECHNIQUE: After the Development lesson plan is complete, it’s on to learning the four basic strokes. We offer three Stroke Technique lesson plans: Freestyle, Freestyle/Backstroke, Breaststroke/Butterfly
  • COMPETITION: Once the students learn the four basic strokes it is time to start focusing on speed. Students will learn how to swim fast while maintaining a technically sound stroke.
